Today was a great day! Of course our schedule was changed as soon as we arrived for breakfast! Nothing new.... We began real work on the church building. A lot of our funds went into roofing the dining hall, but of course hauling the sheet metal above our heads and putting it while standing on a ladder is not something we can do! So, we began by moving all of the sheet metal to the dining hall area, out of the sanctuary. Others continued to paint the two outside walls of the church, while some started scraping the columns and outside of the church. The church color was peachy, now it will be a light green! We also planted some beautiful flowers in the front boxes of the church. Looks beautiful already!
The sun was really hot today!! A man on the team made the comment that nothing I could've said would have prepared them for how hot and sweating they were going to be! I would have to agree! Memories have flooded my mind of the first few years on Changuinola when there was no roof on the building and how hot it was! Luckily, we have a roof over our heads for the most part and also a nice breeze coming off of the ocean.
We have a nice weekend planned and are excited to explore the different areas.
Continue your prayers....
